Children's Day日本では5月5日は「こどもの日」。鮭のぼりをたて、熊の木彫りやテディベアを飾り、ハチミツやリンゴをたべ、子熊の成長を祝う。
We celebrate Children’s Day in Japan on May 5. We raise shakenobori (flags in salmon shape), display carved wooden bears and teddy bears, and eat honey and apples, in order to celebrate growth of our bear cubs.Otherwise, we raise koinobori (flags in carp shape), display kabuto (traditional Japanese military helmets) and Kintaro dolls (a hero in the Heian period), and eat kashiwa mochi (mochi rice cakes filled with red bean jam and wrapped in kashiwa (oak) leaves) and chimaki (a kind of sweet rice paste wrapped in an iris or bamboo leaf), in order to celebrate growth of our children.
